Internships at Talyst


Talyst is located in Kirkland and we believe we engineering the safer pharmacy. The company was founded in 2002 to provide easy-to-use, automated medication management systems to acute care hospital pharmacies. The following year, Talyst launched AutoPharmR, the innovative software platform designed to integrate medication storage, inventory, ordering, barcoding, and clinical systems.

By mid 2010, Talyst had installed pharmacy automation systems in close to 500 acute care hospitals and integrated healthcare companies. By leveraging our expertise in acute care pharmacy automation, we are now building unique systems designed specifically to meet the needs of long-term care facilities and correctional institutions. Talyst is dedicated to delivering world-class software and proven hardware components to enhance efficiency, provide greater inventory control, and improve patient safety in all care environments.

Here's a brief description of the position:

Objective:  Use learned skills to assist in the development of Prototype device along with the R&D team lead by the VP of R&D.

Duties and Responsibilities:
.       Research and recommend electrical solutions to meet prototype requirements
.       Program PLCs, micro controllers, or other firmware control solutions as required.
.       Assist in circuit design and prototyping as required.
.       Partner with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Tech/Customer Support and Development to ensure feature set for prototypes meet business needs for each department.
.       Experience with integration of system components including PLCs, Industrial PCs, and third party supplied drivers and control systems
.       Support and promote Talyst values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
.       Attend to other initiatives and goals as requested.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
.       3rd or 4th year Engineering student
.       Willing to work in a small cross functional team
.       Hands on development skills and experience a major plus.
.       Experience with automation is considered an asset
.       Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
.       Skilled and experienced in listening to prospects/customers, analyzing concerns, articulating understanding of pain points and developing innovative solutions to address them.
