In 2016, we are going to interview the heads of the Machu Picchu Hydroelectric Dam, snorkel between tectonic plates in Iceland, and explore how an American city maintains identity while also incorporating new trends in green design.

Summer Career Center Workshops for Grad Students

The Career Center is offering two workshop series just for graduate students and postdocs this summer!

The first series, Academic Careers <http://careers.uw.edu/sites/default/files/all/editors/docs/gradstudents/Summer_2015_Academic_Careers_Workshops.pdf>, running June 18th-July 30th is for students interested in and/or preparing for the faculty job market. We'll go over key application components and hear advice from successful candidates. The first event in the series, Getting Started Panel, is next Thursday June 18th, 12:30-1:50pm in Savery 260.

The second series is for graduate students preparing for Non-Academic Careers <http://careers.uw.edu/sites/default/files/all/editors/docs/gradstudents/2015_Summer_Beyond_Academic_Career_Workshops.pdf>. In this workshop series students will work on their job search materials, get advice, and practice key skills (like interviewing!). It runs August 11th to 13th.

Eligibility
·         Affiliated with the Early Identification Program (easy to become affiliated – just email us at eip@uw.edu to set up a quick appointment!)
·         Minimum 3.0 GPA
·         Minimum 125 credits completed as of Spring Quarter 2015
·         At least one full academic year remaining before graduating
·         Plans to conduct undergraduate research all three quarters of the 2015-16 academic year
·         Plans to pursue graduate school
