Engineering Internship - Summer
TECT Aerospace, Inc. is looking for three (3) enthusiastic, well rounded students for our summer Engineering Internship Program.  Come learn about our industry, products and processes working with TECT's Engineering, Operations and/or Quality Departments.
TECT Aerospace, Inc. manufactures structural and mechanical components and assemblies for commercial, military, business and general aviation aircraft.
Responsibilities:
Work with engineers, operations and quality management to define, analyze, and measure continuous improvements projects;
Develop cost/benefit analysis in support strategic business initiatives; and
Evaluate value engineering proposals for submission to customers and complete paperwork required to support submission.
  • Strong technical and computer aptitude
  • Strong mathematics skills (accounting to statistics)
  • Desire to work in a hands-on, fast paced environment with opportunity to make a positive impact on the business
  • Good communication skills, organization skills, and follow-up skills to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks

There are a number of opportunities in various areas focusing on Advanced Space Propulsion (nanosatellite propulsion), Spacecraft Mechanisms, and Fabrication & Testing of Spacecraft Components. We are looking for interns with backgrounds in Aero/Astro, EE, ME, and Physics who desire to apply their knowledge to real space, sea, and air systems and while gaining experience designing, fabricating and testing actual space components and systems.
Specific experience is desired in these areas:

  • High vacuum systems and experimentation
  • Fabrication of composite structures

In general you will plan and design electro-mechanical equipment and equipment control systems. Specify hardware and write programs for PLC based control systems for industrial machinery. Electro-mechanical design responsibility may also include: pneumatic, hydraulic circuits and motor control center specification; inverter and servo motor control, instrumentation and MMI hardware and software; operator console, PLC hardware, sensor layout drawings, etc. Must have experience in industrial electrical design, PLC programming, HMI software design, industrial networking, MCC hardware/software configuration, and Closed-Loop Servo control. Hydraulic/Pneumatic control knowledge a benefit. Proficient in AutoCAD and peripheral equipment.
