Undergraduate Engineering Intern

Position: Assistant Engineering Intern (EE)

Company: Consumer Electronics startup with the largest ever Kickstarter campaign in its category (food-related) with an international presence. It has a fun, people-centric, laid-back, but highly driven culture.

Internship job description: There are two major job functions.

1. Debug and service the existing product. Hands-on circuit debugging.
2. Assist the founders and chief engineer in product design for the next design iteration, research and test new possible components, and programming embedded systems.

Technical Skill sets desired:

Most likely a Junior or a Senior with the following skills:

1. Strong circuit design and systematic debugging skills. Very hands-on and enjoy getting the hands dirty. Must understand basic circuit debugging safety and have good attention to detail.
2. Some experience (or course work) in embedded system. Experience with the Arduino platform (or equivalent like Rasberry Pi) strongly desired.

Other skills:

1. Very good writing and communication skills strongly desired, and must be a team person. We have a great team and would like to expand it with more great people.
2. Comfortable with ambiguity. This is a startup, after all.
3. Entrepreneurial.
4. Responsible and service-oriented.
5. (Optional, but would be great to have) A food lover! The product is for the kitchen.

Time commitment:

Flexible. Around 8-10 hours a week to start, weekends are ok as well.

Location:

SoDo. All work to be done on-site. The location is bus-able, but we can also pick up in the U-District and Downtown.

Compensation:

Paid. $13+ depending on experience. There is also a potential for full-time employment.
