Internship Opportunity with Northwest Aerospace Technologies


Job Summary:
This position is for a 10/20 week Software Engineering intern/COOP to develop PC software using the Visual Studio or VB on Excel for Northwest Aerospace Technologies to perform the following tasks:
·         Develop software applications to automate wire kit and wire harness design for the electrical engineering department.
·         Automating the Technical Publications generation by interacting between Autocad, MS Excel, MS Publisher and MS Word.
·         Create dashboard applications in excel to integrate data from various tabs and files to display information clearly and graphically for management.

Job Responsibilities
·         Report to the Engineering Manager of the Electrical Department.
·         Development of software applications on Windows based platforms
·         Create software design specifications based on Engineer and Management feedback
·         Brief others on budget, deliverables, status and progress
·         Create software use-case diagrams and flow charts for software planning
·         Develop software to meet the specifications and requirements provided.
·         Coordinate with engineers to ensure all requirements are met
·         Perform verification testing of final software applications to ensure reliability.
·         Propose concepts for improvements to existing applications.
Requirements:
·         Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience. 
·         Visual Studio experience is a plus.
·         Excel programming experience a plus.
·         C, C++, C# or VB experience a must
·         Excellent written and verbal skills.
·         Knowledge of database creation and generation to plan database implementation.
·         Knowledge of application interoperability such as accessing excel and word is preferred.  
·         Strong analytical capability and math skills
·         Consistently and correctly applies company-prescribed processes and general "best practices" for design and development
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Proficiency with MS Office and Visual Studio 2008/2010
