Part-time Electronic Engineering Technician


The hiring company is developing an electronics Radio Frequency (RF) new product.  There is an opening for a temporary, part time engineering technician position.   Time frame is three to four month.  working hours may be flexible, between 15 to 22 hours per week. Hourly rate is $15 to $18. If the company has another new project before this contract duration ends and candidate performs well, the contract may be extended.  

Requirement: must be sophomore or senior student in electrical engineer major who has basic knowledge on analog/digital circuit design.  Knowledge on power electronics design and/or RF circuit trouble shooting can be a real plus.  Some experience with testing, troubleshooting electronics product or prototypes is also required.  Candidates may gain circuit design evaluation, debug skills and measuring impedance of circuit boards/components by using Agilent 1.5GHz Network Analyzer.  This is a growing high-tech company.    Located in S. Everett/N. Lynnwood.  There is a bus stop at the site.

Duties Include but not limited to: build electronics prototypes. Help engineer to test, evaluate the prototypes according to design specifications and diagnose the circuit design problems.  Be able to write the test results in MS word and excel sheet.  Write some document to transfer design to production during final development stage.  Organize test laboratory.  May need to be multitasks for other product electronics testing.

An ideal candidate would have the following skills/experience:
  • Basic knowledge with analog circuit design,
  • Some knowledge with digital circuit design, but less weighted than analog.
  • Power electronics and/or radio frequency circuit design can be a plus.
  • Familiar with test equipments such as digital oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supply etc.
  • Can do soldering and build electronics prototypes.
  • Interpreting electrical schematics & mechanical drawings
  • Electronic trouble-shooting & repair down to component level.
  • Capable of following written and verbal instructions of a technical nature.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to write test plans that communicate clearly.
  • Write done test results in note books.
  • Flexible and adaptable to variety tasks.
  • Excellent attention to details and carefully follow-up.
  • Dependable and resourceful.
  • Basic Computer skills including M.S. Word, Excel, E-mail etc.
