Electrical Project Engineer with Pulp and Paper Division


To provide technical electrical engineering and project management oversight for the design, installation, and maintenance of the plant electrical and instrument systems.



This position is to provide technical electrical engineering and project management oversight for the design, installation, and maintenance of the plant electrical and instrument systems.  Key accountabilities include providing leadership and management regarding electrical safety, electrical distribution, trouble shooting, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.

Minimum qualifications include:

§  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
§  Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad, and power system modeling software required.
§  Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
§  Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

1.     Electrical Safety
·         Develop and Write High-Voltage lockouts.
·         Maintain High Voltage Lockout Library.
·         Oversee electrical lockouts as requested.
·         Provide documentation for lockouts as requested.
·         Assist with safety training of electrical qualified personnel as requested.
·         Audit safety performance of electrical contractors.
·         Oversee Arc-Flash Program
2.     Electrical Distribution
·         Assist with oversight and management of the Electrical
      Distribution System – 34.5 KV and 12 KV.
·         Maintain EasyPower database.
·         Maintain plant one-line and three-line diagrams.
·         Assist with power studies as needed (eg. Arc-flash, Short circuit, Equipment Duty, Coordination, Utilization).
·         Troubleshoot plant electrical disturbances.
·         Direct repairs and upgrades to distribution system.
·         Evaluate, order, maintain electrical distribution spare parts.
·         Maintain and Update Mull Utility Network

3.     Operations and Maintenance Assistance
·         Assist with troubleshooting as requested.
·         Take electrical/instrumentation/refrigeration calls as scheduled.
·         Assist production area Electrical, Instrument and Refrigeration Maintenance employees as requested.

4.     Project Management
·         Plan and direct electrical capital projects.
·         Direct execution of electrical portions of non-electrical projects as requested.
·         Provide electrical planning for all projects as requested.
5.     Preventive Maintenance
·         Complete preventative maintenance (PM) of electrical distribution system as directed.  Also assist with annual distribution system, testing and maintenance, transformer, switch, throat Liquid Screen Tests, distribution cable testing and oversee lead acid battery maintenance.
·         Assist production areas with budget planning for electrical Preventative Maintenance.
·         Assist production areas with planning and execution of electrical Preventative Maintenance.
6.     Thermography
·         Train electrical personnel in thermography.
·         Interpret thermograms as needed.



Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad, and power system modeling software required.
