Commercialization Issues & Opportunities in the Space of Implants
Karl Hermanns specializes in chemical-related patent matters, including overall portfolio management and strategy.  He graduated with a both a B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from UW and holds a J.D. from the University of Colorado, School of Law.  Karl is an adjunct professor at the UW School of Law, co-teaching the patent preparation and prosecution courses and teaches “Intellectual Property for Scientists” through the Chemistry Dept.  He is also a faculty member in the Center for Advanced Study and Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP) at UW School of Law.  In addition to his many positions within the University, Karl is also a managing partner at Seed IP Law Group, a Seattle-based law firm specializing in Intellectual Property. 

Buddy Ratner, Professor & Michael L. & Myrna Darland Endowed Chair in Technology Commercialization, holds joint faculty appointments in Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering and is also the Director of UW Engineering Biomaterials (UWEB-21).  Read more….
