UW Science Explorers - STEM outreach opportunity

Hi everyone,

Hope your quarters are off to a wonderful start! I'm writing to send you an exciting outreach opportunity. For the past couple years, I've been working with a graduate student organization called Science Explorers.  We are a graduate student organization that does science enrichment at a local elementary school, Sanislo Elementary school and we're currently looking to recruit more volunteers and leaders for our team!

We do fun weekly science and engineering lessons, everything from static electricity balloons to hydraulic robots. This is a wonderful way to give back to the community and meet graduate students in other departments (and it looks great on NSF applications)!

We'll have an orientation session on Wednesday, October 7th at 2:00 in the MolES 1st floor conference room, if you want to learn more about this opportunity. Please come or email sdrao@uw.edu if you're interested! We're always interested in recruiting more graduate students so please spread the word to your friends as well!
