National Conference on Undergraduate Research & Abstract Workshop - apply by Dec. 2

This year we have the rare opportunity of having the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) taking place in nearby Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, April 16-18, 2015. Students in all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply to present their work. (Deadline: Dec. 2). Please read on for critical info. on NCUR and how URP plans to support your application to NCUR and travel to Cheney, WA.

(1)  About NCUR

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is an interdisciplinary conference where students representing universities and colleges from all around the U.S., and internationally, will present their research and creative works in oral, poster and performance/visual arts presentations.  

The mission of the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is to promote undergraduate research scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of higher education.

(2) Travel to Eastern Washington U is on Us!

URP will be chartering a bus (whoo hoo!) for presenters and our staff to travel to Cheney. The cost is on us.  For other conference costs, those accepted to present at NCUR are encouraged to apply for an Undergraduate Research Conference Travel Award.

(3) Attend our NCUR Abstract Writing Workshop - Monday, Nov. 24, 3:30-4:30 pm in 171 MGH

We will have an NCUR Abstract Writing Workshop as you'll need to submit one to apply.  This workshop will cover what exactly is an abstract, how to write one, and what information to include. If you already have a draft, you may also bring this to the session for feedback.


(4) Other Assistance: As always, URP Staff are also available to assist you during Drop-In Advising on Tuesdays, 2-4 & Fridays, 10:30-12:30.
