REU Summer Assistantships in Radio Astronomy, Solar System Studies & Atmospheric Sciences at Arecibo Observatory

Arecibo Observatory will conduct a summer student program, funded by the National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program, at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico during Summer 2014. Areas of research include radio astronomy, solar system studies and atmospheric and space sciences. Students interested in electronic instrumentation or computer science are also encouraged to apply. The assistantships, which include a stipend, accommodation, and round trip airline tickets, are conducted during a flexible ten week period beginning in June. Students will have opportunities to visit many of the beautiful sites of Puerto Rico, which is a U.S. Commonwealth.

Undergraduates who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and who will be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (part or full time) during Fall 2014 are eligible. Apply online at http://www.naic.edu/reu_program.html by January 27, 2014. EOE/AAE
