Environmental Innovation Challenge Co-Chair Position

My name is James Barger and I was the Co-Chair for the 2012 Environmental Innovation Challenge at UW. The Environmental Innovation Challenge is a competition for students at UW put on by the College of Engineering, the Foster School of Business, and the College of the Environment that focuses on solving environmental problems.

The reason I am contacting you is to let you all know about an opening within the EIC Executive Committee for the Engineering Co-Chair position next year. It is a 3-quarter commitment and we are looking for someone who can meet the following qualifications:

-Strong work ethic, willing to go above and beyond target goals

-Passion for promoting environmentally friendly and profitable student innovations at UW

-Leadership and people skills working within groups

-Ability to speak to a variety of audiences

-Past participation in the EIC is a plus

The Co-Chair position takes up about 2-4 hours per week on average and can be higher leading up to big events (i.e. the week of the EIC). As a Co-Chair, you will have access to a wide variety contacts through the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship as well as great events on campus that are unavailable to other groups.

If you think that you meet the above qualities and would like to know more about the position, e-mail me your resume along with a short answer (no more than 4 sentences) to the following questions:

-What makes you a great candidate for leading the 2013 EIC?

-Why do you want to be the EIC Co-Chair?

-How do you see yourself leading as a Co-Chair?

Thanks for your interest and I look forward to meeting you!
