UW Math Academy: Seeking Faculty and/or Graduate Student Presenters

The UW College of Engineering is seeking engineering faculty and graduate student volunteers to present engaging educational presentations and activities about their field of research during our summer Mathematics Academy program, (July 11 – August 5).

The Mathematics Academy targets high achieving underrepresented minority and female students who are interested in engineering or computer science. Your presentation will help to excite them about careers in engineering, and provide an opportunity for broader impact in your research work. Find out more about the Math Academy at www.uwmathacademy.org

We are now accepting proposals for presentations as follows:
Intro Exploration Seminars:
· 1 day (2 hrs/day) - (serving entire group of 32 students); or
· 2 consecutive days (2 hrs/day) (serving split group of 16 students/day)

Please distribute the attached presentation proposal application to faculty and graduate students in your departments who would be interested in presenting their research through an activity this summer. Interested presenters should contact creadej@uw.edu with any questions and/or completed proposals by Friday April 22, 2011.
