Columbia River PUD Scholarships

Scholarship Program

Columbia River PUD is now offering utility industry and community service scholarships to seniors from local high schools.

Columbia River PUD offers three $4,000 Utility Industry Scholarships and three $1,000 Community Service Scholarships to students from the PUD's service area. Students may apply during their senior year of high school. College juniors who are pursuing a degree in power or energy system engineering, or renewable energy engineering, may also apply.

Utility Industry Scholarships

  • $4,000 Scholarships
  • Three are available to students who reside within the PUD's service area.
  • For these utility specific careers
    • Linemen
    • Electrical Engineers - Power or Energy Systems
    • Field Engineering Technicians
    • Energy Efficiency Specialists
    • Renewable Energy Specialists
    • Renewable Energy Engineers
    • Energy Management Engineers
  • College juniors who are from the PUD's service area and are pursuing a degree in power or energy system engineering, or renewable energy engineering, may also apply
  • Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the PUD to request a job shadow. Call (503) 397-1844 to make your request.

Community Service Scholarships

  • $1,000 Scholarships
  • One scholarship will be awarded at each of the the three local high schools: St. Helens, Scappoose and Rainier
  • Recognizes students for their outstanding community service efforts
