Part-Time Opportunity: Seattle Children's Hospital Simulation Cart Design

Seattle Children's Hospital Simulation Program is currently looking for an individual to digitally construct a mobile simulation training cart system.

Position Purpose:

Collaborate in the design specifications and development of a new mobile simulation cart system concept.

Essential Function:

Utilizing computer software (CAD), convert a prototype design made of wood into a digital plan ready for metal fabrication.

Requirements:

This person should have a broad knowledge of CAD engineering software. This person should understand the workflow process of moving a concept design to manufacturing.

The mobile simulation cart system (Sim-Smart Cart) will provide most of the functionality of a stationary simulation center in a compact vehicle easily maneuvered to and from site-of care training locations.

This combination platform will consists of all of the following amenities and features in one single unit:
1. *Custom built cart. Easy maneuverability within hospital standards. Space for all components and supplies.
2. *Curtain barrier between trainee, sim-tech and facilitator helps to prevent distractions during training.
3. Full audio & video recording and playback capability with multiple remote and attached camera and microphone rig system.
4. Simulator (either neonatal, pediatric, youth or adult manikin(s). (System is adaptable with most mid to high fidelity patient simulators - for demonstration purposes, the Laerdal SimBaby is used).
5. Real-time A/V capture & simulator data record for onsite and remote web access.
6. Real-time data playback for debriefing or post review.
7. Export data to any codec or storage device.
8. Supplies and materials for education and training sessions.
