The Bioengineering department is hosting a Career Meet-Up with
Impel Neuropharma featuring Matt Tomson, head of Human Resources and Director of Finance, and
Michelle Halpin, an alumna of the UW’s Bioengineering department
and current Product Development Engineer at Impel! The meet-up is
scheduled for
Tuesday, May 12th at 6pm at Foege N130A.
All engineering and biology majors are welcome! If you are planning on going, please RSVP at this link: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/atwong94/269650.
A Career Meet-Up is a chance to gather a number of
interested students together with a company representative for informal
discussion about industry in general, networking, and internships. The
first part of the session will feature a presentation
by Matt and Michelle, and the second part will be an open
discussion/Q&A for students to ask questions. This would be a great
way to network and to explore the industry path!
Impel Neuropharma is a biotechnology start-up based
in Seattle. Their goal is to enable drugs to bypass the blood brain
barrier for treatment of diseases. They have developed a device called
the Precision Olfactory Delivery device (POD),
that works similarly to a nasal spray but is able to deliver drugs to
the upper nasal cavity and bypass the blood brain barrier. If you want
to learn more, click HERE to

They are currently recruiting for summer
internships, so if you’re currently in the process of applying for
internships, this is a
GREAT opportunity to make connections!!
