Thinking about what to do during Spring Break?
Want to work with amazing young people across the state of Washington?
Apply for Pipeline Project's 2014 Environmental Alternative Spring Break (EASB) program!
The UW Pipeline Project is sending groups of
students to rural and tribal communities throughout Washington State
during spring break 2014 to facilitate hands-on environmental education
and science projects. You and your team will plan,
design, and teach a curriculum in elementary and middle school
classrooms while learning more about the community, local ecology, and
the environmental and education issues of the region. As part of
preparation, you will enroll in a 2-credit planning seminar
during Winter Quarter (Thursdays from 4:30-5:50 pm) to develop the
lesson plans, fundraise for the program and gain more experience by
volunteering in local Seattle classrooms or environmental education
organizations for 2-2.5 hours per week. No prior environmental
education experience is necessary.
You have the chance to extend your own learning,
spark an interest in science and the environment and make a lasting
impact on a group of students’ lives.
