On May 13th GPSS will be holding the first annual Science and Policy Summit in hopes of bringing together the scientific community and policy makers for a discussion on the role and importance of science in public policy. The Summit will highlight 4 broad topics including: Health, Energy, Transportation/Built Environment, and Natural Resources.
We would like to highlight some of the scientific research being conducted by our own graduate students at the UW, from basic scientific research to applied research. In addition, we would like to showcase policy analysis that is conducted by UW students. All research within the four broad topic areas are invited for submission.
The Forum on Science Ethics and Policy will be co-sponsoring the poster session during the Summit. FOSEP and the UW Bookstore have graciously donated awards for the poster session, including a $75 gift certificate for the overall winning poster, and 3 $25 gift certificates to the UW Bookstore for the winners of the other topic areas.
The Poster Session will be held during the Summit's lunch from 12:30-2:00 pm at the UW Tower.
Reasons you should consider submitting a poster:
*All types of research welcome, so long as you are a graduate student at UW
*Posters designed for another event are appropriate for display at the Summit
*Great practice for presenting posters at an upcoming conference
*Did we mention there is a chance to win a gift certificate?
*And always a crowd pleaser: Free lunch, on us!
