Digital Imaging Assistant:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scan photographs and images from catalogues for an image database to support a research website/online exhibit in development; edit digital images using Photoshop; enter image metadata in spreadsheet and/or image management software such as Aperture; coordinate with supervisor and other research consultants about database development
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: demonstrated extreme attention to detail; competency with computers and an interest in digital imaging plus a willingness and ability to learn new software and/or equipment; ability to follow instructions closely and consistently; dedication to maintain a regular weekly schedule.
Desired: comfort with the Macintosh operating system; basic knowledge of Photoshop a plus; strong verbal and written communication skills; Chinese language skills a plus but not required (the image database under development covers Chinese contemporary art and visual culture).
Educational Benefits:
One-on-one experience with a professor to develop a research-related database to support a website/digital companion to a forthcoming book on Chinese contemporary art; gain computer, digital imaging, and digital asset management skills that can be applied in future work.
