Student Travel Grant Opportunity to IMS 2016 - Project Connect

I would greatly appreciate your help spreading the word among your undergraduate and first-year graduate students about IMS 2016 Project Connect.  Selected applicants to this program will receive up to U.S. $800 travel grants to attend the 2016 International Microwave Symposium on May 22-27, 2016 in San Francisco, CA. The goal of Project Connect is to provide students with an opportunity to participate in social and career development opportunities, which include: panel sessions with speakers from industry, government and academia with a special focus on entrepreneurship; assistance with effective resume writing and graduate school applications; and, most importantly exciting networking opportunities with the microwave community. Candidates should be members of under-represented groups in engineering.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate junior or senior level, or first year graduate student in engineering or a closely related discipline (e.g. math, physics, etc.). Candidates should be at least 18 years old and members of under-represented groups in engineering. For example, in the United States these groups include women, American Indian/Native, African American/Black and Hispanic American/Latino. There are no citizenship requirements.

How to Apply:

• A completed application package consists of:
Project Connect Student Travel Grant Application
A copy of your unofficial transcript and a letter of recommendation from an involved faculty
member
A short (under 3 minutes) self-documentary video that relates to your career goals and background
 
Applications are due by February 19, 2016.
