Terminal Performance
Engineer
Position Summary:
The candidate
is responsible for testing and evaluating wireless
handset products according to test
plans for the objective of meeting customer approval. The candidate is
also responsible for becoming the local subject matter experts in terms of
North American GSM and related standards development and
interpretation of customer requirements specifications in order to provide
guidelines to project managers and R&D members for feature implementations.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may
be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the candidate
will:

Use technical
engineering knowledge and experience to test and evaluate new wireless terminal
products and associated accessories.
·
Use technical engineering
knowledge and experience to understand customer applications test cases.
·
Identify to Product
Management and R&D teams of any implementation discrepancies,
non-compliance and performance degradations of terminal products for
resolutions, regression evaluation and testing.
·
Leads or guides other
Field Test Engineers (internal or contracted) in the performance of complex,
semi-routine and routine application tests, including those at customer
locations, to evaluate product compliance to customer acceptance criteria.

Interface with
customer technical engineering teams for the management (interpretation,
reproduction, tracking and verification of resolution by R&D) of
non-compliance reported by them. Where appropriate, make recommendations to
product management personnel and R&D engineers on corrective actions
required and effectively adapt solutions agreed upon in a timely manner to
ensure correct and effective product launches and installation.

Proofing of technical
and/or user manuals for clarity and accuracy.
·
Perform test equipment
solution assessment, evaluation and recommendation to Senior Management and
Executives.
·
Generate, track and close
non-compliant issues in Samsung configuration management environment. Perform
regression tests of firmware improvements to validate corrective actions of
GSM, WCDMA, and LTE subscriber products.
Background/Experience to qualify for
this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

A Bachelors Degree in
engineering or related electronics technical training from four-year college or university.
·
Between 0-2 years technical
experience or telecommunications engineering
related experience.
·
Must be able to read,
analyze and interpret technical requirements and procedures.
·
Must have excellent MS Office
proficiency.
·
Strong preference for bilingual
ability (English & Korean)
