Digital Media Producer

Undergraduate Academic Affairs is looking for a UW undergraduate
student to be our digital media producer and help tell some stories of
the amazing things that undergraduate students are doing. Are you a

stories of the undergraduate academic experience? Then we hope you take

build your digital storytelling portfolio.
· The
primary
responsibility of the digital media producer is to develop and produce
video and photography projects for Undergraduate Academic Affairs (UAA)
that align with UAA priorities and the University’s brand. Video
projects could include short video stories about
individual students’ academic experiences, interviews, promotion for
flagship events and experiences, or stories for live events. Photography
assignments will include portraits; active, photo journalistic photo
shoots; events; campus shots; as well as others.
· Participate
in managing social media communications channels for UAA, particularly YouTube and Instagram.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must
be
a UW undergraduate student with an interest in photography and video
for the purposes of public relations, brand communications, content
marketing, journalism or related field.
· Experience
in photography and video production and/or related coursework.
· Strong interpersonal
skills.
· Proficient
in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs.
· Proficient
in Adobe Premiere or Apple Final Cut Pro.
· Strong attention
to detail, ability to work independently and multitask.
· Outgoing,
experienced in working with a range of people and situations.
· Ability
to lift and transport materials.
· Generally,
work should be carried out Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Some evenings and weekends required.
· Valid driver’s
license. (UCars would be used for any driving.)
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience
with PhotoShop.
Schedule:
· 15-19.5
hours per week.
· Most
work
will happen between regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5
p.m. There are occasional evening and weekend projects (Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day of Service, for example).
· Position
begins at the beginning of winter quarter and runs through spring quarter.
Compensation: $15.00/hour
