BIOE is offering an exciting new seminar SPR 2014: Healthcare Transformation: Forces, Trends, and Implications. The instructor will be Lee Huntsman, Professor of Bioengineering and UW President Emeritus. Please see below for the
description and registration information.
This graduate seminar is an introduction to the changes underway in American healthcare, the forces at work, and the implications for participants in the healthcare ecosystem. The course will involve both invited speakers and engagement with relevant literature. Invited speakers are thought leaders in healthcare and include Oren Lang-Furr, Partner at Ernst and Young, Paul Ramsey, CEO of UW Medicine and Peter Neupert, former manager of health IT for Microsoft.
This seminar requires active participation. Students will be assigned selected literature for review and should expect to participate vigorously in class discussion.
